🧾 Movie Storyline

Maa is not just a horror film, it's an emotional and mythological journey. Kajol plays Ambika, a mother whose life turns upside down when her husband Shubankar dies mysteriously in his ancestral village Chandrapur. She travels with her daughter Shweta to wrap up the property matters but ends up facing an ancient demonic curse.

The village hides a dark secret: young girls begin disappearing after their first menstruation. Shweta too goes missing. Ambika learns of the blood-thirsty demon Aamsaja and the cursed tree linked to human sacrifices during Kali Puja. In a desperate attempt to save her daughter and others, Ambika undergoes a divine transformation and channels the wrath of Maa Kaali.

This transformation is where Kajol shines the most – becoming a fierce mother goddess ready to fight evil. The film weaves ancient rituals, folklore, horror tropes, and deep maternal love into a power-packed supernatural drama.
